Harnessing opportunities through leadership
Guillermo began his career in technology with the U.S. Navy, where he received a military scholarship that led to his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Regis University in Colorado. He went on to hold technology leadership positions with some of Silicon Valley’s most respected companies. For over 20 years (2000 to 2020), he was a transformational innovator across Cisco Systems and the technology industry where he developed a strong track record for accelerating results through people, process, and technology. Guillermo served as Cisco’s Global Chief Information Officer and was responsible for the IT organization, strategy, and services. He has held other technology leadership positions at Silicon Graphics, Ingram Micro, and Alza Corporation.
Guillermo serves on the Board of Directors for Blue Shield of California, Jack in the Box (JACK), and Unicoin. He is immediate past Chairman of the Hispanic Technology Council (HITEC), the premier global executive leadership organization of senior business and technology executives who have and are building outstanding careers in technology. Guillermo also serves on social impact boards for the Cristo Rey High School Work Study program, Npower – supporting veterans and young adults, and the Stanford Latino Entrepreneur Initiative. Guillermo lives in the San Francisco Bar Area.
